World Skate World Championships 2023

World Skate is proud to announce the Downhill Skateboard and Street Luge World Championships 2023 to be held in Tagaytay, Philippines.

This will be the first World Skate-sanctioned Downhill Championship ever held in the Philippines. Mark your calendars,get ready,and we’ll see you in the Philippines!

PROVISIONAL SCHEDULE

Provisional schedule for Downhill Skateboarding & StreetLuge:
February 22nd – Official training, Technical Meeting
February 23rd – Official training
February 24th – Timetrials
February 25th – Race and Finals
Subject to change. The schedule will be defined upon registration closure.

COMPETITION FORMAT

For both Downhill Skateboarding & StreetLuge:
● Time Trials (Men and Women)
● World Champion ships race (4-person heats for both men and women)
Both time trials and World Championship races will be awarded with medals.

COUNTRY QUOTA

Athletes:

Maximum 8 athletes per gender per country are allowed to participate. This is intended as the total number of athletes competing for Downhill Skateboarding & Street Luge disciplines altogether. Within the men’s team, a maximum of 6 can be from a single discipline. Within the women’s team, a maximum of 6 can be from a single discipline.

It is not possible for an athlete to register in both disciplines

Wild Card requests must be sent by e-mail to downhill.skateboarding@worldskate.org
within February 1st 2024.
Please note that a wild card athlete is granted at World Skate’s discretion and is limited
only to the cases below:
● Lack of an existing and recognized NGB in the athlete’s country of origin.
● Host country citizenship.
● Event organizer Wildcards.

National Team Officials for each NF:
National Team Officials: Max 5
Coach: 2 Team Manager: 1 Doctor:1 Physiotherapist:1
The National Federations (NFs) are entitled to register a specific number of National Team Officials (NTOs), listed above. NFs with a large number of competing athletes may
apply for additional NTO quotas, pending approval by World Skate.
Moreover, each NF has the right to register its President and its Secretary General.

VENUE

The Downhill Skateboarding World Championships will be held at Tagaytay, Philippines.
